Each portrait is drawn by hand on archival-quality, 100% cotton paper.
You send me the details of your order along with a photo of your pet. If you have several, get in touch: we will choose the best one together. I get back to you within 48 hours to confirm the reference photo and send you a quote.
I draw the portrait by hand, using traditional techniques, from the photo you approved. Allow 2 to 3 weeks depending on the size. You receive a photo of the artwork before it is shipped.
The artwork is signed and carefully packed, framed or unframed as you choose. Tracked shipping within France, or hand delivery around Bernay (27, Eure).

These terms apply to the sale of original pet portraits, hand-made to order from photos supplied by the customer, to customers living in France.
The customer sends a request through the form on the site. This request is not binding. Shana agrees the reference photo with the customer, then confirms by email the total price (portrait, plus frame, shipping and insurance where applicable) and the expected timeframe. The order is concluded when the customer accepts this confirmation. Large formats are quoted individually.
Portrait prices are shown on the site, in euros. VAT is not applicable (Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code): no VAT is added to the amounts shown. The frame, shipping and any insurance are added to them. The estimate shown by the form is indicative only: only the amount confirmed by email is binding.
A gift card or voucher code is checked by Shana before the order is confirmed. Its value is then deducted from the confirmed price.
Payment is made as set out in the order confirmation. Work on the portrait begins once the payment provided for in that confirmation has been received.
As a guide, a portrait takes 2 to 3 weeks to complete, plus delivery time. The timeframe confirmed by email is binding. The customer receives a photo of the artwork before it is shipped.
Deliveries are made within France only, by tracked Colissimo to the home address or a pick-up point. Hand delivery is possible around Bernay (27), by arrangement. Parcel insurance with La Poste can be requested. The customer is asked to check the parcel on receipt and to report any damage to the carrier and to Shana as soon as possible.
Under Article L221-28, 3° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised, which is the case for portraits made to order. However, as long as work has not begun, the customer may cancel the order by email and receive a full refund.
Each portrait is a hand-made artistic interpretation, not an exact reproduction of the photo. Shades may differ slightly from how they appear on screen.
The customer benefits from the legal guarantee of conformity (Articles L217-3 to L217-20 of the French Consumer Code) for two years from delivery, and from the guarantee against hidden defects (Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code) within two years of their discovery. The customer acquires the original artwork. Shana retains the copyright: any reproduction of the artwork for commercial purposes requires Shana's written consent. The portrait and its making-of are only shared on social media with the customer's agreement, given in the form. The customer warrants holding the rights to the photos supplied.
The data provided is used to process the order. How it is used and the customer's rights are set out in the legal notice and privacy policy.
In case of difficulty, the customer is invited to contact Shana by email first to find an amicable solution. These terms are governed by French law; the customer may bring proceedings before the court of their place of residence.
